Oh, Texas.

"We don't care if you wave a gun around, but god damnit keep your kid's hair cut!"

Really, Texas?

A 4-year-old boy was suspended from his Pre-K school when his parents chose not to adhere to the a request by the school's principal for the child's hair to be cut; per the school district's dress code. Young Taylor Pugh was suspended for wanting to keep his pretty little mane just the way it was.

Via KFOX14:

According to the district dress code, boys' hair must be kept out of the eyes and cannot extend below the bottom of earlobes or over the collar of a dress shirt. Hairstyles "designed to attract attention to the individual or to disrupt the orderly conduct of the classroom or campus (are) not permitted," the policy states.

The district is known for standing tough on its dress code. Earlier this year, a seventh-grader in the district was sent home for wearing black skinny pants. His parents chose to home-school him.

On its Web site, the district defends its code, saying "students who dress and groom themselves neatly, and in an acceptable and appropriate manner, are more likely to become constructive members of the society in which we live."

Now seriously, for anyone who thinks that the way your hair looks is going to affect how much of a 'constructive member of society' you will be...i would like you to take a look at some examples.

Example #1: DMX

Now, his head is shaved. Very clean. He even has on a collared shirt. But mind you, this is a mug shot. Not a very constructive member of society, now is he? Besides giving us bad ass party anthems like Party Up, that is.

Example #2: Sir Richard Branson

Besides being the billionaire owner of the Virgin franchise, Sir Branson also sports a mane of untamed locks. Along with the occasional caveman beard. He has funded groups of humanitarians that include the likes of Nelson Mandela as well as done countless charitable work in South Africa of his own. Not to mention bring us the first commercial spaceship! He also likes to walk around barefoot. Constructive member of society? You tell me.

Dress codes always made me a little angry. Case in point; shit like this. Let the kids keep their hair however the hell they want it. As long as they're not hiding guns in it, i think they'll be ok.
